Description
SPAD (single photon avalanche diode) is used in single-photon detection applications, where it is often involved in photon counting. Hamamatsu offers SPAD array and module products, and we can integrate these detectors with ASIC and customize our products to fit into your unique system. SPAD sensors can be used in LiDAR, optical tomography, quantum computing, and other low-light-level applications.
An example is the newly released C16531 series which is a photon counting module that can detect low-level light. It consists of a TE-cooled single photon avalanche diode (SPAD), amplifier, comparator, SPAD bias circuit and temperature controller. This product is also available as fiber coupling type module C16533-050GD and C16534-050GD. You can simply supply external power (±5 V) to use this module.
Another example is the C11202 series which is a single-photon counting module which is made up of a thermoelectrically cooled single-pixel photon counter (SPPC), an amplifier, a comparator, a high-voltage power supply circuit, and a temperature controller. The photosensitive area is available in two sizes of φ50 μm and φ100 μm, and such small photosensitive areas offer a low dark count. Modules operate just by connecting them to an external power supply (±5 V).
Products include: C16531-050GD; C16531-100GD; C16532-050GD; C16533-050GD; C16534-050GD; C11202-050; C11202-100; C13001-01; C14076-01.
