Scorpion S-412 Blaster
The Scorpion S-412 is a compact and rugged light-weight Solid-State Electronic Capacitor Discharge Blasting Machine which incorporates a Circuit Continuity Indicator (CCI) allowing the operator to verify a complete circuit is attached to the Output Binding Posts prior to initiation. The CCI uses a secure blasting-safe signal to detect when a circuit is present and informs the operator with a green LED. The CCI uses a redundant safety and immediately disengages after “Charge” is depressed. It will only re-engage when “Charge” is released.
The S-412 features a newly re-designed compact case and Haptic Vibration alert to indicate the unit is Armed, in addition to the red LED. The unit is completely sealed making it waterproof and impervious to dust, dirt, sand, and debris. It features EIT’s specially developed Heavy-Duty Push Down Binding Posts for quick and secure lead line attachment. It incorporates 2 guarded push button switches for ‘Charge’ and ‘Detonate’ operations and is engineered for rapid charging.
The Scorpion S-412 Blaster has been locally tested by SIMTARS and complies with AS 2187.2:2006 clause B5.5.1 (Equipment for electrical firing – Exploder – Firing Output).
A replaceable 9V battery provides hundreds of Charge/Fire cycles. The battery loads smoothly through the side of the unit into a waterproof compartment secured in place by an easy-on/off Battery Cap. The Scorpion S-412 incorporates 2 attachment points for easy carrying and accessory options.

The Scorpion S-412 Blaster is suitable for general blasting applications including construction and quarry. It is not suitable for underground coal mining environment.
