Description

Hamamatsu manufacture a range of sensors for LiDAR applications. These include:

  1. MPPCs (SiPMs) Silicon photomultipliers with enhanced sensitivity at 905 nm (the wavelength commonly used for TOF LiDAR) and high internal gain to keep output signal above the noise floor of the system’s electronics; Products include: S13720-1325CS and S13720-1325PS
  2. Silicon APDs with high visible and NIR sensitivity, internal amplification, wide dynamic range, and wide bandwidth. Our standard products are automotive-grade; Products include: S14643-02; S14644-02; S14644-05; S14645-02; S14645-05
  3. A selection of silicon PIN photodiodes which are cost-effective, high-speed detectors with high sensitivity in the visible and NIR regions. Standard products are automotive-grade; Products include: S15193; S13773
  4. Devices that integrate a photosensor, such as a photodiode or avalanche photodiode (APD), and front-end integrated circuit (IC) that reads the signals from the photosensor which are suitable for rangefinders; Products include: S14137-01CR; S14847-CR; S13282-01CR; S13645CR
  5. InGaAs APDs that provide high near-infrared sensitivity for low light detection at high speeds. Products include: G14858-0020AA; G8931-04; G8931-10; G8931-20
