Description

Hamamatsu image sensors which are designed to measure distance to an object by the time-of-flight (TOF) method.

These image sensors consist of a photosensitive area (linear or area array), shift register, output buffer amplifier, bias generator, timing generator, and other components. When used in combination with a pulse modulated light source, these sensors output phase difference information on the timing of the light is emitted and received. The sensor’s output signals are arithmetically processed by an external signal processing circuit or a PC to obtain distance data.
