Hamamatsu develop and manufacture image sensors with high sensitivity and a wide dynamic range that are ideal for high precision measurement such as spectrophotometry, as well as industrial measurement. Hamamatsu offer a wide product lineup that covers a broad spectral range from the near infrared (NIR) at long wavelengths up to 2.6 um through the visible, ultraviolet, vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) on down to the X-ray wavelength region.

Both linear 1-dimensional and Area 2-dimensional sensors are available.

InGaAs area image sensors are two-dimensional image sensors that have a hybrid structure consisting of a CMOS readout circuit (ROIC: readout integrated circuit) and back-illuminated InGaAs photodiodes for near infrared (NIR) and short wavelength infrared (SWIR) regions. These are suitable for different applications including hyperspectral imaging, industrial sorting, process inspection, and night vision imaging.

InGaAs linear image sensors are one-dimensional image sensors for the visible (VIS), near infrared (NIR), and short wavelength infrared (SWIR) regions. Their applications include spectrometry, industrial sorting, and medical imaging.
